Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!

The Paschal Altar

The Nepali people know that the light of each new day first strikes the peak of Mt. Everest, the highest spot on earth and within the boundaries of the country of Nepal.  A full 15 minutes later, the sun finally begins to shine on India.  Accordingly, the Nepali government sets official Nepali time 15 minutes before Indian time.  Nepalis takes great pride in the fact that each new day begins first in Nepal!

With that in mind, it is with great joy and pride that we were the first to celebrate the glorious Feast of Pascha in Nepal and therefore are the first to proclaim the great good news that Christ is Risen!

Come receive the Light, not overcome by night. . .

Come receive the Light, not overcome by night. . .

To all of you we send our greetings and we pray a glorious Feast of the Resurrection of Christ our Lord for you and your parishes.  And from the top of the world we join you in joyfully proclaiming, Christ is Risen!  Truly He is Risen!

Truly He is Risen! Thanks for explaining the time thing – I was wondering if some random person just decided to mess with the rest of the “timekeepers” of the world!
    With Love, In Christ, Xenia
